About LLT: What Makes This Brand Different

Safety storage cabinets are not complicated products on the surface. Steel box, double walls, a door and a lock. But the difference between a cabinet that works and one that fails comes down to construction details that most buyers never see. LLT builds cabinets with double-wall steel construction and a 38mm insulating air space that separates the inner and outer shells. That air gap is what slows heat transfer during a fire, keeping the contents below their auto-ignition temperature long enough for the fire to be brought under control. Cheaper cabinets skip this detail. They use single-wall construction and rely on the steel thickness alone, which transfers heat directly to the contents within minutes.

LLT also builds its cabinets with fully welded seams rather than spot-welded or riveted panels. Welded seams do not fail under thermal stress. They do not leak when a container inside ruptures. And they do not create gaps that allow vapours to escape into the workspace. The doors use a three-point latch system with a flush-mounted handle that pulls the door tight against the gasket. That seal matters because flammable vapours can ignite from a spark metres away. A door that does not seal properly defeats the entire purpose of the cabinet.

The company manufactures its cabinets to meet FM6050, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 and NFPA CODE 30 standards. Those are not marketing labels. LLT FLAMMABLE LIQUID STORAGE CABINETS - Built with double-wall 18-gauge steel construction and a 38mm insulating air gap. Available in 45-gallon (170-litre), 60-gallon (227-litre) and 90-gallon (340-litre) capacities. Each cabinet includes two adjustable shelves, flame arresters on the ventilation ports, a leak-proof sump and a three-point latch system with a flush handle. The powder-coated yellow finish resists corrosion and chemical staining. FM6050, OSHA 1910.106 and NFPA 30 compliant. Best for petrol, solvents, paint, ink, thinners and other flammable liquids with flash points below 37.8°C.

LLT CORROSIVE CHEMICAL CABINETS - Built with a Teflon-coated interior that resists acid attack. Standard steel cabinets corrode within months when exposed to strong acids or bases. The Teflon lining solves that problem by creating a barrier between the chemical vapours and the steel shell. Available in 45-gallon and 90-gallon capacities with polyethylene spill trays, adjustable shelves and ventilation ports. Blue powder-coated finish for easy identification. Best for hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, nitric acid, caustic soda and other corrosive liquids that would destroy a standard cabinet.

LLT TOXIC CHEMICAL CABINETS - Built for substances marked as toxic in the safety data sheet. These cabinets include a leak-proof sump, ventilation ports for fume extraction and a double-door configuration with a three-point latch. Grey powder-coated finish with warning labels that meet GHS classification requirements. Best for pesticides, herbicides, cyanide compounds and other toxic substances that require segregation from general chemical storage.

LLT GAS CYLINDER CAGES - Steel mesh cages with retention chains that hold cylinders upright and prevent tipping. The open mesh design allows air circulation, which prevents gas buildup from slow leaks. Available in single-cylinder and multi-cylinder configurations with a safety yellow powder coating that resists weather. Bolt-down base plates for permanent installation. Best for oxygen, acetylene, argon, nitrogen and other compressed gas cylinders stored outdoors or in designated gas storage areas.

LLT SPILL CONTAINMENT PALLETS - Polyethylene and steel pallets designed to catch drum leaks before they reach the factory floor. The sump capacity holds at least 110% of the largest container volume stored on the pallet. Polyethylene pallets resist most chemicals and will not rust. Steel pallets carry heavier loads and include epoxy coating for corrosive environments. Available in two-drum, four-drum and six-drum configurations. EPA 40 CFR 264.175 and SPCC compliant. Best for drum storage, chemical transfer areas and anywhere liquids are dispensed from containers.

• FM6050 - The Factory Mutual standard for flammable liquid storage cabinets. FM approval means the cabinet has been independently tested for fire resistance. The test involves placing the cabinet in a furnace, raising the temperature to over 800°C and measuring how long the internal temperature stays below the auto-ignition point of common flammable liquids. LLT cabinets carry this certification.
• OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 - The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration standard for flammable liquid storage. Covers cabinet design, construction, venting and labelling requirements. LLT cabinets meet this standard.
